About our practice

Tanya Munir Makani

Tanya came to dental hygiene through nursing, and that background changes how she works. She's interested in your full health picture, not just your teeth — and eight years in, she still takes time to explain everything in plain language and build a plan that's right for your mouth specifically.

Dilnoza Elmatova

Dilnoza has been working in dental care for over a decade — starting as a dental assistant before qualifying as a registered hygienist. Originally from Uzbekistan, she's known for her unhurried approach and for helping nervous patients feel genuinely at ease. Every visit, she takes the time to make sure patients actually understand their own oral health.

Independent Registered Dental Hygienists
How it came to be

The facility & the philosophy

Our dental office is located at 523 Guelph Street in beautiful Norval, Ontario, just east of Georgetown. For its first few years it was sharing the space with Dr. Sawlak's Integrative Wellness & Detox Centre at that address — and as the practice grew, it expanded and renovated to occupy the full space.

The practice was founded by Brunilda “Bruna” Mucaj — an Integrative Medicine Doctor and Registered Restorative Dental Hygienist (RRDH). Originally from Albania, where she earned her dentistry degree at the University of Tirana, Bruna practiced Whole Body Dentistry for a decade before moving her family to Toronto, continuing her studies at George Brown College, and graduating as a Registered Restorative Dental Hygienist in 2012.

“Your smile is your window to the world. I named the practice ‘Growing Beautiful Smiles’ to suggest that it is the patient who is doing the growing — the services we provide are designed to encourage and support that.”

Our role is to enhance the natural growth and health of the mouth by providing the safest and most effective care possible — using natural, non-invasive and non-surgical methods wherever we can.

A note on the word

“Holistic” dentistry?

Folks often interpret “holistic” as meaning “wholesome.” There's nothing particularly wholesome about surgery — medical or dental — so although patients sometimes refer to us as a “holistic” practice, we're not entirely comfortable with that term.

What we will say is this: we keep our procedures as non-toxic and gentle as possible, and we recognise that what happens in the mouth can affect the rest of the body — and vice versa. To that extent, “holistic” genuinely applies.
