Canadian Dental Care Plan
We welcome patients covered under the Canadian Dental Care Plan — helping more Norval families access the preventive care they need.
Affordable dental care,
backed by the federal government.
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal program that helps make the cost of dental care more affordable for eligible Canadian residents who don't have access to private dental insurance. It's administered by Sun Life on behalf of Health Canada.
As Independent Registered Dental Hygienists, we're able to provide many of the preventive and diagnostic services covered under the plan — so you can keep your smile healthy with little or no out-of-pocket cost, depending on your income.
Four requirements to be eligible
No dental insurance
You don’t have access to private dental insurance through an employer, plan or family member.
Income under $90,000
Your adjusted family net income is less than $90,000 per year.
Canadian resident
You’re a Canadian resident for tax purposes.
Filed your taxes
You (and your spouse or partner, if applicable) filed last year’s tax return.
Eligibility is based on your most recent tax return and is verified by the Canada Revenue Agency. You and your spouse or common-law partner (if applicable) must have filed your taxes for the previous year.
Services we provide under the plan
Coverage follows the CDCP Dental Benefits Guide. Some services have frequency limits or require pre-authorization — we'll always confirm what's covered before treatment.
Coverage by income
The plan pays a set percentage of the CDCP fees. If a provider's fees are higher than the CDCP amount, you may have an additional cost — we'll always be transparent about this up front.
